I love Frankincense Essential Oil. It is one of my absolute favorite oils. We use it daily in our house.
Frankincense essential oil is mentioned 22 times in the Bible. It was given as a gift to Jesus when very young. It was the custom at the time to anoint newborn sons of kings and priests with the oils of frankincense. Back in Bible times it was considered a cure-all and was applied to all kinds of wounds, bruises, cuts, as well as inhaled and taken internally.
The frankincense tree grows to about 20 feet in height with branches often beginning near it’s base. One of the very few ideal places this prized tree is found is in Southern Arabia (Oman and Yemen). The oil given to Jesus came from the same areas where Young Living gets frankincense today.
It was one of the ingredients in the holy incense that the Hebrews burned perpetually in their tabernacles for more than a thousand years. We experience this fragrance in our home with the use of the Young Living Resin Burner. They also have the frankincense resin.
Sometimes, I have the resin burner going about an hour before bed. I love the smell and it is very calming. It also raises your spiritual awareness, so bedtime seems a very appropriate time to do that, since many people pray before bed. We also diffuse frankincense in our house. Combined with orange oil, it is exquisite!
For thousands of years, frankincense has been used to treat everything from gout to a broken head. Today, it has been shown to be useful in overcoming stress and despair, being used as a natural antidepressant. It has also been used for warts, typhoid, bronchitis, cancer, high blood pressure, headaches, allergies, pneumonia, hemorrhaging, supporting the immune system and more!
Right now my husband Steve, drinks 10-15 drops of frankincense in his NingXia Red a couple times a day. He has also added other Young Living Oils in the past like orange and lemon. These are some things he does daily to remain off medications that he took for almost 20 years. He has been medicine free for a few years now. And as always, I recommend you work with your doctor to wean off prescription medicines.
I like to take a couple minutes during the day and apply a couple drops of frankincense in my hands and inhale deeply. I feel it brings not only a calming feeling but it brings clarity of mind and a feeling of being centered or balanced.
Some other uses of this amazing oil are for skin itching, to help fade scars from acne, stretch marks, and surgery. It promotes healthy cells and regeneration of skin. That’s why it is an excellent choice for preventing or reducing wrinkles. I personally like using it instead of the toxic cosmetics out there that are also very expensive. It can even be worn as a perfume!
Frankincense is not usually thought of for pain, but because it reduces inflammation, it can be used for easing backache, especially during pregnancy and labor. You can also use it to reduce pain from injuries ( which I’ve had more than my share), and to reduce things like arthritic pain.
I also used it not to long ago to bring down a high fever that my grandson Noah had. It worked in just a matter of minutes! It is so versatile it just amazes me what all it can do.
What people have said about using Young Living frankincense essential oil…
“I have had great success in using a drop of Frankincense three times per day to diminish brown spots on my arms. Sometimes these spots are called age or sun spots. I rub the Frankincense in and within the first week they begin to fade. I have had one disappear completely and two others are fading from the center out. It has been a month and I can see a huge difference.” ~ Karen
“I had an 8 inch surgical incision. The day the staples came out the oils went on! Twice daily, I applied Frankincense, Lavender, Helichrysum, Gentle Baby, Melrose and Hyssop. At that time we did not have Elemi but I would have added that as well. At night before I went to sleep after applying the oils I put the highest IU vitamin E oil I could find at the health food store.
Then, I put a piece of cotton material over it and secured it with adhesive tape so the vitamin E oil would soak in. I did this treatment faithfully for about 2 or 2 1/2 months and today I have absolutely no scar whatsoever!!! Thank you God for Gary Young and our precious sacred oils!!!” ~ Julie
“I had an itch on my leg that I just couldn’t get rid of. I had it for 2 or 3 years. It was so bad I scratched all the time and it formed a callus. I tried everything I could think of. One night I was using Frankincense before bed and decided to give it a try. I applied one drop to the itch. It didn’t itch for a week afterward. So, I applied another drop…now the callus is gone, skin is normal, and if I feel an itch coming on (very infrequent now) I just apply a drop of Frankincense.” ~ Vanessa
“I have had two plantar warts for ten years on my feet, each the size of a dime. I tried a prescription medicine on them twice, with no success and much pain as it killed the skin around the entire area, After two months of applying Frankincense, they have reduced to half the size, without the pain.” ~ Garry
“I have been using 2 drops of Frankincense oil and 2 drops of organic coconut oil on my face each day for about 3 weeks. I have quite a few comments from friends and family on the appearance of my skin. It os so soft and clear and has a lovely texture to it. I love frankincense oil!” ~ Olivia
“I have suffered with more than 13 warts, some as big as peas, on my hands for several years. I have tried every product on the market, as well as all the home remedies I heard about, but I had no luck getting rid of them. After receiving my Young Living Essential Oils, I decided to experiment with them. I started rubbing some Spruce Oil and Frankincense Oil on them once or twice a day. After two weeks all my warts were completely gone.” ~ Judy
Frankincense essential oil is always in my natural health cabinet. I believe it should be in everyone’s home!
