No one is immune to stress. We all have it. In fact, we are designed to experience and react to stress.
So not all stress is bad. Moderate amounts of stress is actually beneficial. It may protect some people against diseases of aging like Alzheimers and strengthen the immune system. And some stress can help you do your best at anything.
Stress causes your body to produce powerful chemicals and that is the reason you experience these benefits. However, if you experience continuous stressful situations and challenges without let-up, it can cause your body to be in distress. This distress can lead to things like sleep issues, high blood pressure, stomach problems, headaches and chest pain. It can cause existing health problems to become worse and have a wide range of effects on your mood, emotions and thus your behavior.
Stress has also been linked to things like stroke, heart attack, anxiety and depression. These are just a few things excess stress can cause.
It is estimated that at least 75% of doctor visits are stress-related. It is one of the ways the body responds to the environment.
We live in a fast-paced world. And with all the things we need to get done during the day, we can easily feel overwhelmed. You become tired and lose the joy of life. You start pushing yourself to get through the day!
There are numerous amounts of medications either by prescription or over the counter drugs for stress that come with bonuses if you want to call them that. The bonuses are harmful side-effects. I don't know about you, but dealing with the stress is enough without the the side-effects.
This is why I choose to use Young Living Oils. There are natural properties in the organic essential oils that produce an uplifting, calming effect on the body and mind. You can apply them topically or one of my favorite ways to use them is diffusion.
Every time I diffuse oils like Joy, Peace and Calming, lavender, orange or any of the citrus oils, people always comment about the wonderful smell in my home. Many say, "I don't know what it is, but I feel better when I leave your house." And I thought it was just me, haha!
One of the Young Living Oils you may not think of for managing stress is Abundance. Sometimes, after being under lots of stress for a long period of time, it can cause a person to go into depression. Using this oil blend can many times prevents that. If you already experience depression then Melodie's story will encourage you.
Why Abundance Oil Holds a Special Place In My Heart
by Melodie Kantner
"Abundance oil is my favorite of all Young Living’s essential oils. I love lots of other oils but Abundance oil is the one that started my essential oil journey. Abundance oil was introduced to me at a time when I was hopelessly depressed. I was having suicidal feelings but I had decided that I would never be able to go through with suicide because of all the damage that is done to those left behind.
My mother had received her Young Living Essential Oils order which contained Essential 7 Kit and a bottle of the essential oil blend Abundance. She knew I was seriously depressed so she brought the oils over for me to try. Joy is the oil she thought needed but I was drawn to Abundance oil. I put the Abundance on and within minutes my mood was lifted up so much I was giggling and dancing around the house. My son Brandon, who was still living with us at that time, came home and saw the way I was acting. He just stared at me for a few minutes, then asked, “Are you ON SOMETHING?”
And so began my love affair with Young Living Essential Oils.
I had used essential oils in the past but NEVER had any positive effects. What I had been using before was perfume grade essential oils. No life in them and no health benefits.
I believe the reason this oil is the one I needed at the time is because Abundance is an oil that relates to attracting abundance. It also seems to help depression that is related to money issues. At the time we were going through terrible financial problems and were close to losing everything.
I was hopelessly depressed and would never consider taking antidepressants because of what I had already learned about natural health and what I have seen happen to others on those drugs.
As I write this story, which I have told many times, I still get tears in my eyes. It is THE REASON I became a distributor with Young Living Essential Oils. I had such a powerful experience with essential oils, I immediately started thinking how many people could benefit from having these marvels of creation. At the time I was a distributor for another company that sold herbal supplements but I was failing miserably. I had wanted to have a way to supplement our income and hopefully provide a means to help our financial situation.
One thing I learned is that essential oils are the life blood of the plant. When herbs are cut & dehydrated for therapeutic use, they can lose as much as 90% of the healing nutrients as well as the vast majority of the vital oxygen molecules. The reason is because they lose most of the essential oil which is actually the part that is responsible for healing properties.
Therapeutic grade essential oils, when properly distilled, are so highly concentrated, most of them are at least 50 – 100 times more therapeutically potent than the herbs or plants they came from.
Besides all of that, Abundance oil just smells great. It has cinnamon, patchouli, frankincense, myrrh, orange and clove. If you haven’t tried it, give it a try."
